GO! KNIGHTS!!!

FH (Fimleikafélag Hafnarfjärðar) is one of the three sporting clubs in Hafnarfjörður, and currently the most successful representative of the town in the Icelandic football U-21 youth league. The club has played a significant part in the gang's history, since BjT, Kol, Pipin and the Two-Towers started to play in the children's squad about 15 years ago. Nowadays 7 members of the HFJ-gang are active FH players.

FH are nicknamed "The Knights", probably for their fighting spirit and the love for the beautiful game and fair-play. The primary team colours are: white shirts, black shorts and white socks. The home training and playing ground of the Knights is Kaplakrikarvöllur, a large sports complex situated in the north-eastern part of the town. Most matches of the U-21 Icelandic national team are also played on this ground.

FH is a member of the Icelandic Football Association (Knattspyrnusamband Нslands). The senior team participates in the Icelandic Premier League (Landssнmadeild), as does also the U-21 team (in U-21 Ъrvalsdeild). Our youth team's history is connected with quite a few successful achievements in the past, including one Coca Cola Cup title and one 1.Deild title (Division One). The Knights are experiencing a unprecedented evolution throughout the last couple of years, the team constantly progressing further into the final seasonal chart.

This success comes mainly due to several reasons. First, there is the undisputable contribution of our Trainer, Gunnar Þór Gunnarsson. This skilled specialist joined the club in 1996 and passed through all stages of training, until he took the U-21 squad in 1999. Since then, he has been doing miracles with the team, using the excellent background of home-grown talent, which is the other main reason for the Knights' success. Very good tactic and skillful young lads combined to make FH one of the main factors in the League.

Season 2002 was the most successful one in the team's history, since the creation of the U-21 League in 1986. FH won a promotion to Úrvalsdeildin in 1999. The next season was quite hard for the team, which was struggling to avoid relegation. But the foundations of the future successes were already digged into the ground, and the team made an impressive next season, ending on the 5th place. In 2002, the fruits of the long-time hard work started to show. FH won the bronze medals in the League and reached the Coca Cola Cup semi-finals for a second consecutive year. This allowed them to take part in the European Leagues' Cup tournament and finally make a historic breakthrough, qualifying to the 1/8-final groups stage.

FH are the only team with no home defeat for the year 2002, and are now running an unstopped streak of 16 months without home defeat. Knights have turned Kaplakriki into their untakable castle!
